This tutorial will provide you with strategies for creating courses and assignments that are principled in their own right but also help to avert plagiarism. You will see how to provide strategies for helping students to become more invested in their own writing, reflection, and research, incorporate ways to get students invested in their own writing and areas for reflection or research. The tutorial will include tips to make it “impossible” for students to plagiarize.

Plagiarism: In this section, you will see a surprising example of plagiarism and also an example of an assignment that could lead to plagiarism, one 'mixed' assignment, and one that prevents plagiarism.

 

Resources to Detect Plagiarism: This section will provide you with a number of valuable resources and techniques for identifying plagiarism.


Activity: This section will help you design an assignment using the techniques discussed throughout the tutorial. 

 

Quiz: The quiz asks you questions to help you to recall some basic information about plagiarism. This quiz can be taken before or after traveling through the tutorial.
